What we do?
Cub Scouts meet in small groups by grade called Dens, usually consisting of 4 to 9 boys. The Dens come together once a month and meet as a Pack to participate in an activity and receive recognition for achievements  that month.  Dens work toward earning their next rank by participation in an age appropriate curriculum established by the Boy Scouts of America.

What do I need to get?
You will need to purchase a Class A Uniform, which consists of at least a shirt, belt, neckerchief and slide (the belt is the exact width to accommodate some of the metallic awards.) You may purchase the pants at the Boy Scout Uniform Store, or any nice pair of blue dress pants or jeans will finish the uniform. You will need to pick up the base patches  which include the Capitol Area Council Patch, the World Crest, and Pack 440 numbers. In addition to the Uniform, you will need to purchase a cub scout handbook.

How can I help?
Our group is run entirely by parent volunteers; we are much like a co-op in that we require a high-level of adult support. You will be asked to sign-up to help in some capacity.  Each Den requires at least one den leader and an assistant den leader. The Pack requires parents to be involved for many of the activities and for general management.

What will it cost?
Pack dues are $65 and are due in September for each Scout. In addition, we ask for participation in a fund-raiser to to help pay for pack expenses such as awards, food for campouts, blue and gold banquet, etc. Each den will also have some form of dues typically in the $25-$50 range per year. The den dues help cover the cost of materials and supplies for working towards achievements.

What do I get for the cost?
  • All dues are returned to the boys in the form of:
  • A rank appropriate Neckerchief and Slide each year
  • All Awards, Badges, and Pins earned each month
  • A Model Car Kit for Pine Wood Derby
  • An annual subscription to Boy's Life magazine
  • Insurance, rechartering, and membership fees thru the District Boy Scouts of America
  • Much of the weekly activity supplies, and much more...

Additional costs will include professional game tickets, some events where meals are served, special activities with ticket costs, daycamp, family camping, and other events where you choose to participate.

How do I sign up?
