How do I sign up?
Our big recruitment event is coming up. If you miss that, sign up here or you are invited to attend one of our monthly Pack 440 meetings to join in person or contact our Membership Chair, Liz Brunet, or our Cubmaster, David Rosin.

Who Can Join?
We are happy to announce we are now taking in both boys and girls, grades K-5.

What will it cost?
Pack and BSA dues, combined, are $275 per new scout. Here's what you get:
• A rank appropriate neckerchief and slide (upon advancement to new rank)
• All awards, badges, and pins earned
• A model boat kit for Rain Gutter Regatta
• A model Pinewood Derby kit
• Family campsites and meals for one adult and one Scout for Fall and Spring campouts (other family members additional)
• Class B uniform (pack 440 t-shirt)
• Insurance, background checks of Pack volunteers, rechartering, and membership fees due thru the District Boy Scouts of America
Pack 440 is 100% volunteer run. Plan to take an active role in our Pack!
Additional costs may include special event meal costs, daycamps, campout meals, and other events when you choose to participate. A two hour service requirement is asked of every scout toward the Pack's fundraising efforts to help keep dues low and defray upkeep expenses on Pack assets and the cost os special events. Each den may also have minimal dues to help cover the cost of materials and supplies for working towards achievements.

What we do
Cub Scouts meet in small groups called Dens: Lions (Kindergarten), Tigers (1st grade), Wolves (2nd grade), Bears (3rd grade), Webelos 1 (4th grade), and Webelos 2 (5th grade). Dens come together during the month to participate in fun activities, and then receive recognition for achievements that month at Pack meetings. Dens work toward earning their next rank by participation in an age appropriate curriculum established by the Boy Scouts of America handbook.
What do I need to get?
You will need to purchase a Class A Uniform, which consists of at least a shirt, hat, belt, neckerchief and slide (the belt is the exact width to accommodate some of the metallic awards.) You may purchase the pants at the Boy Scout Uniform Store, or any nice pair of blue dress pants or jeans will finish the uniform. You will need to pick up the base patches which include the Capitol Area Council Patch, the World Crest, and Pack 440 numbers, white on red. In addition to the Uniform, you will need to purchase a rank appropriate cub scout handbook. All Scouts new to the Pack get a free handbook (from the Pack, not the Scout store) for their rank.

In Austin, the scout store is located at: 12500 North IH 35 | Austin, Texas 78753
How can I help?
Our group is run entirely by parent volunteers; we are much like a co-op in that we require a high level of adult support. You will be asked to sign up to help in some capacity. Each Den requires at least one den leader and an assistant den leader. The Pack requires parents to be involved for many of the activities and for general management.
